Heel Pad XC adds Sorbothane® cushioning under the heel of your shoe, spreading heel-strike impact before it reaches your joints. Installation takes under three minutes.
Before you start
Heel Pad XC goes under your shoe's original insole, so your insole needs to be removable. Hook a finger under the heel edge of the insole and lift — if it comes up freely, you're good to go. If it's glued in, Heel Pad XC isn't compatible with that shoe.
Installation — 6 steps
- Remove the shoe's original insole, pulling it out from the heel end.
- Take Heel Pad XC out of the box. Peel off the paper liner first, then the film. (Tip: slightly damp fingers keep the pad from sticking to your hands.)
- Place the Heel Pad sticky-side down into the heel area of the shoe base.
- Press firmly for 5 seconds.
- Put the original insole back on top. It should lie completely flat, with no raised edges.
- Repeat on the other shoe.
Sizing tip: If the pad is slightly large, trim the edges with scissors. Don't fold or bend the Sorbothane® material.
After installing
You'll feel the extra cushioning from your first step. Heel Pad XC has been tested over 1,000,000 steps with no compression set. Wipe it clean with a dry cloth when needed, and remove it before washing your shoes.
